Rory McIlroy has officially turned his 2013 season into a bizarre soap opera worthy of a chapter in John Daly's life.
The No. 1 player on the World Golf Rankings withdrew from the Honda Classic on Friday morning after playing his first eight holes at 7-over-par. McIlroy hit his second shot on the par-5 18th hole into the water, then walked off the course, leaving playing partners Ernie Els and Mark Wilson behind and numerous questions ahead.
