Although the PGA Tour doesn't release the results of player of the year balloting, it's hard to imagine that Rory McIlroy didn't enjoy the runaway support of his peers.
By by one vote or 100, McIlroy is the 2014 PGA Tour player of the year, announced on Wednesday during a teleconference. McIlroy won the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool and the PGA Championship at Valhalla, which bookended a victory in the World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational. He now has four major championships at the age of 25.
